Bookskoetter Review:
While I found the plot of this book to be very intriguing, I did not like the way it was written. I have the following issues with this book:
  • Too many cheesy moments.  The ending was particularly nauseating.
  • Told from four different people's perspective.  This was not only confusing, but obnoxious on audiobook.
  • Bronte (one of the main characters) was way too mature for her age.  Her wisdom was not believable.
That being said, the plot has a lot to offer.  I also have to admit that it is possible that I didn't enjoy this book because I didn't like the work of the four voice actors who performed on the audiobook.  Despite the issues that I had with this book, I think that many teen readers may enjoy it.  Especially those who enjoy a realistic dramatic story with a hint of the paranormal.
