Bookskoetter Review:
When I saw cover of this book, I was instantly intrigued.  You see, I come from a family of geeks, married a geek, am friends with many geeks, and am, indeed, a geek.  However, I had never truly appreciated how many different types of geeks exist in our world.  This book featured short stories about anything from Star Trek to dinosaurs, to theater, to comics, to Rocky Horror Picture Show.  The first couple of stories in this book had me laughing hard and calling my husband into the room to read the best parts.  I even hastily recommended the book to my brother.  However, after reading more stories, I wished I could retract my whole-hearted recommendation, because I did not enjoy several stories in this book.  Mostly I found these stories at fault because they were overly angsty, lovey-dovey, or just boring.  However, it could be that they were just not my shade of geek.  The one thing that I truly enjoyed in this book were the hilarious geek-inspired comics found between each story! Most were truly fantastic!  Overall, I would recommend this book to geeks because most will surely find at least two or three stories that inspire their inner geek.  However, it's realistic to expect that all may not be your shade of geek.
