Bookskoetter Review:
I don't usually enjoy sad books, but Hold Still packs in enough hope (realistic hope, mind you) that I found the read to be very enjoyable. The protagonist, her former best friend, and a new friend that she discovers during the course of the novel, are all complex, artistic, intelligent, sophisticated characters that I could not help but like. The book sprinkles spunky and creative art and doodles throughout the novel, which really gives it a lot of character. I found the storyline to be honest, heartbreaking (yet hopeful), and realistic. I would recommend this book to teens craving realistic fiction full of complex characters facing real-life issues.
