Bookskoetter Review:
This book was pretty all right!  The main character, Piper, is profoundly hearing impaired, which adds an interesting element to the story.  And happily, the author does an excellent job of helping readers see Piper as just an ordinary teenager with ordinary problems (instead of highlighting the differences, as many YA authors have done).  While there are a few moments that aren't very believable, for the most part, the author has done a good job of putting together a making-of-a-band story that is actually pretty realistic.  Unfortunately, the book wraps things up a little too neatly for my taste. Even so, I would recommend this book to fans of realistic fiction who both crave a story about a real-life-teenager with real-life issues, and a story that is not over-the-top emotional.
